A phlebotomy technician is responsible for the collecting of blood specimens for the laboratory to help diagnose health conditions and illnesses. However, a phlebotomy technician is also responsible for prepping lab equipment, gauging a patient's reaction to the blood draw, and collect the fluids correctly. Phlebotomy Technician certificate program provides training in obtaining blood specimens by venipuncture and micro-collection techniques.
